Opening gates & doors
Answer buzzers and trigger entry from the Intry app.
Overview
When a visitor uses the building intercom, Intry sends a push notification (or a fallback call/SMS if you enabled those). Opening the notification takes you to the Approve / Deny screen.
You have approximately 30 seconds to respond before the request expires and the visitor must try again.
Approving entry
- Read who is at the door.
- Tap Approve if you recognize the visitor.
- Keep the app open briefly — some buildings need a moment for the strike/magnet to release.
Denying entry
Tap Deny if you do not expect anyone. The visitor hears that the unit declined.
If nothing happens
| Symptom | Try this |
|---|---|
| No notification | Check Notifications; turn off Do Not Disturb |
| Approve tapped but door stuck | Retry once; the 30-second window may have expired |
| "Offline" message | Check cellular/Wi-Fi |
| Someone was denied but you didn't deny | A roommate may have denied it, or the request expired |
Guest passes
If you created a guest pass, your visitor may enter with a PIN during the pass window without calling you.
